The Nangma Valley Trek is one of the most spectacular trekking adventures in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Located near Kanday village in the Ghanche District of Baltistan, this remarkable valley is famous for its towering granite spires, dramatic rock faces, green alpine meadows, and breathtaking views of the Karakoram Mountains.
Often compared to Yosemite because of its extraordinary rock formations, Nangma Valley is a dream destination for trekkers, photographers, nature lovers, and mountaineers. The highlight of this adventure is the trek toward Amin Brakk Base Camp, where enormous granite walls rise above the surrounding mountain landscape.
With Precious Pakistan, discover the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Baltistan through a carefully planned trekking adventure. From the historic streets of Khaplu to the peaceful campsites of Mingulo Broq and Nangma Valley, this journey offers an unforgettable combination of mountain scenery, local hospitality, and wilderness exploration.
The best time for the Nangma Valley Trek is generally from June to September, when trekking routes are more accessible and the alpine landscape is especially beautiful.
Weather can change quickly in the Karakoram, so the final departure dates should be confirmed according to current trail conditions.
The Nangma Valley Trek is considered moderate to challenging. It involves several days of walking on uneven mountain trails, uphill and downhill sections, rocky terrain, and possible stream crossings.
The approach to Amin Brakk Base Camp reaches high altitude, which can make the trek physically demanding. Previous trekking experience is beneficial, and participants should have good cardiovascular fitness and be comfortable walking for several hours per day.
The trek is not a technical climbing expedition. However, any scrambling or excursions beyond the standard trekking trail should be undertaken only when conditions permit and with appropriate guidance.
The trek’s upper section and Amin Brakk Base Camp area reach approximately 4,500 metres, depending on the exact route and campsite. Actual altitude should be confirmed with the local guide before departure.
